and Dennis Ritche.
* It is a Command Line Interpreter. It was developed for the Mini-Computers as a time sharing system.
* UNIX was the predecessor of LINUX.

History of LINUX :

Linux kernel is heart of Ubuntu OS.kernel is important of any operating system(OS).Kernel Provide bridge between hardware and software.It is an independently clon of unix kernel.This OS can be inspected and improvement can be done as desired.
Open source platform can be tested by computer programmer around the globe.It is not possible in closed system like windows.
Linux has files like :

ext4 , ext5 you can see these in the file system .
Shell:
 The shell is a program that sits on the as an interface between users and kernel. It is a command interpreter and also has programming capability of its own.
 Shell Types:
• Bourne Shell (sh) (First shell by Stephen Bourne)
• C Shell(sh)
• Korn Shell (ksh)
• Bourne Again Shell(bash)

Some remaining difference between unix/linux:
  1. UNIX is used in intenet server or big company.
LINUX is mainly used in pc.
  1. LINUX is based on kernel of UNIX.
  2. Both OS are open source but UNIX closed one as compared to LINUX.
